The action takes place sometime after the defeat of Boo, following Dragon Ball Z. The beginning of the story is a rewrite of the plot of the Dragon Ball Z movies: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: The Resurrection of ‘F’, then the series continues with new storylines.
